Parental Communication

We need to do a bit better!

The academy aims to communicate effectively with all parents and carers to ensure that parents and carers share in the education of their children.

However, we don't always get this right and lately (February 2022) we have had some backlogs and some difficulties in communication and some parents and carers have rightly picked us up on it!

We are working on this but please keep letting us know if we fail in our aim to communicate well by e mailing the Principal direct at a.betts@harrisriverside.org.uk

Below are some frequently asked questions about parental communication;

Q; Can one parent or carer ask for another parent or carer to be removed from our contacts list or ask that we do not give information to another parent or carer?

The academy cannot exclude an adult with parental responsibility from receiving information on their child - in some cases whether that child is a biological child or not - unless there is a court order in place. The DfE issues clear guidance on this which can be read here.
