Parental Communication

The academy aims to communicate effectively with all parents and carers to ensure that parents and carers share in the education of their children.

We also send communication surveys every few months in order to determine what changes we can make to improve our level of communication.

You can email us with any queries or concerns to; info@harrisriverside.org.uk

Below are some frequently asked questions about parental communication;

Q; Can one parent or carer ask for another parent or carer to be removed from our contacts list or ask that we do not give information to another parent or carer?

The academy cannot exclude an adult with parental responsibility from receiving information on their child - in some cases whether that child is a biological child or not - unless there is a court order in place. The DfE issues clear guidance on this which can be read here.

Q; I sent an email Friday night, it is Monday morning and I have not received a response.

We aim to respond to all queries within 48 working hours but as the email was received outside of academy hours it would be picked up first thing on Monday morning. Due to this the 48 working hours commenced Monday morning, meaning you should receive a response by Wednesday.

Q: How can I book Parents' Evening appointments?

You can do this via the My Child at School app. You can also access your child's reports, attendance and timetable.

Please find below a guide on how to access the app.
