Welcome

At Harris Academy Riverside Sixth Form our mission is prepare all our students to study at the top universities in the country and go on to become leaders in their fields.

We achieve this by developing independence, instilling an appreciation for scholarship and developing professional habits in our students to ensure they succeed not only in their A levels, but in higher education and beyond. We have had excellent success in our mission, getting students into Oxford/Cambridge and onto medicine courses every year since we have opened, as well as getting three times the national average of students into Russell Group Universities.

Specialising in STEM and Finance subjects, we are proud to support our students on pathways to careers including medicine, engineering, scientific research and finance. Situated in our new building in Purfleet with state-of-the-art labs and equipment our sixth form students can expect high standards of teaching and learning from staff who are experts in their subject, and who have achieved outstanding results year on year. We also offer a wealth of enrichment opportunities targeted at STEM and finance career pathways to help you form well-rounded applications for university, apprenticeships and careers.

Our ambition for excellence is evident in the academy’s commitment to preparing our students for application to the Russell Group of Universities. We run a systematic programme comprising of academic tracking; trips and masterclasses; mentoring as well as all-through university application guidance for each of our students.

The sixth form offers students the opportunity to give back to their community by taking part in outreach projects and charitable endeavours through the interact club as well as supporting younger students in the lower academy. We also offer a wide variety of societies that students can run and attend, from Medics Society to Debate Society, we will facilitate all you need to explore extra-curriculars.

We look forward to welcoming you to Harris Academy Riverside Sixth Form and to celebrate the successes you achieve with us.

Mrs B. Shane
