This page is the place to come as we start to prepare our new year 7s for life at Harris Riverside.

Congratulations on gaining a place at Harris Academy Riverside from September 2026. We are delighted to welcome you and your family to our school community and are very much looking forward to meeting our new cohort of students.
We recognise that beginning life at secondary school is a huge step. Our priority throughout the transition process is to ensure all students who will be joining us in September are fully prepared, to provide families with the information they need to support their children and to enable our new cohort of students to start a new and exciting journey at Harris Academy Riverside, to "enjoy being the best they can be".
In service of this we have created this dedicated transition section of the website which will be updated regularly with letters, documents and information for you to view and download.

Year 6 SEND Transition Morning - Invitation Only
Wednesday 24th June
Transition Days:
Monday 29th June:
- Gates open at 9.15am
- Assembly starting at 9.30am
- Students should wear their primary school uniform and bring Trainers (in case PE on the day)
- Students should bring a packed lunch and water bottle
- Phones MUST be switched off and kept out of sight.
- Dismissal at 3.15pm. If your child is going home alone, please inform Info@harrisriverside.org.uk account and ask for Miss Picton or Miss McLoughlin
Tuesday 30th June:
- Gates open at 8.50am
- Assembly starting at 9am
- Students should wear their primary school uniform and bring Trainers (in case PE on the day)
- Students should bring a packed lunch and water bottle
- Phones MUST be switched off and kept out of sight.
- Dismissal at 3.15pm. If your child is going home alone, please inform Info@harrisriverside.org.uk account and ask for Miss Picton or Miss McLoughlin

We also have a uniform pop up shop on site Tuesday 4th August 11am-3pm, where your child will be able to try uniform on and purchase uniform, if you wish to do so.

First Day (September)
We look forward to welcoming our new year 7s to the academy on Monday 7th September at 9am
- Students should arrive in full school uniform and bring a packed lunch for the first week, lunch will be provided for students students that entitled to free school meals
- Timetables will be given to students on their first day
