The Academy Day
At Harris Academy Riverside, each school day is structured to maximise learning, build character and spark ambition in every young person.
Our day is built so students arrive ready, stay engaged and leave prepared to live out Sharp Minds, Kind Hearts, Bright Futures.
At Harris Academy Riverside, the typical school week runs for approximately 34 hours, with a full timetable in operation for all year groups. Students are expected to arrive at least 5 minutes before their scheduled start time to ensure a prompt and calm beginning to the day.

Lesson and Break Structure
- Students attend four lessons per day, each lasting 80 minutes.
- Three days a week, students in key stage 3 attend reading lessons, with KS4 covering RHSE and Study Skills, each lasting 30 minutes.
- Each year group will have one assembly a week, lasting 30 minutes.
- Break and lunch times are staggered to ensure a calm and orderly environment:
- Break: 15 minutes
- Lunch: 40 minutes
