Are you switching secondary schools?

If you would like to apply for a place at the academy for a child who is not at the usual age for admissions into year 7, or at any time during the academic year, you can do so. This is called an 'in year' application. 

Every year we welcome around 30-40 students whose parents are looking for a new school for their child, either because they are moving to the area or they want to change schools for a different reason. 

Switching schools is a big step for families so we do everything we can to make the process as easy as possible.

If there are no vacant positions available your child will be placed on the waiting list (see the oversubscription criteria found in our admissions policy). 

All applications, including in year transfers must be made via Thurrock website.
