Ms. d’Arcy graduated from the University of Manchester with a first class degree in French and Spanish before completing her PGCE at London Metropolitan University. She began her career with the Harris Federation in 2013 as a newly qualified teacher and has since held a range of teaching and leadership roles both within and beyond the trust. Prior to teaching, she worked in marketing, bringing a strong understanding of communication, teamwork and strategic thinking to her leadership practice.
As Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning, Ms. d’Arcy is passionate about helping teachers at every stage of their career to refine their craft and get better every day. Her approach to professional development is rooted in expert guidance, deliberate practice and attention to the small details that make the biggest difference in classrooms. She believes that great teaching is built through rehearsal, feedback and shared habits, and that the strongest schools are those where team comes before individual and staff are united by a common moral purpose.
Ms. d’Arcy is driven by the belief that knowledge is power and that every young person deserves access to an ambitious education which opens doors and expands opportunities. She is committed to maintaining a school culture where students are challenged to think deeply, work hard and take responsibility for their learning. Her focus is on ensuring that every student leaves Harris Academy Riverside with the knowledge, character and confidence to thrive in the next stage of their lives.
