Originally from Newham, she graduated from Middlesex University, before receiving a scholarship to train at the Royal Academy of Dance, where she also was accredited her PGCE for teaching. Mrs Tyson then continued to study for her Masters in Education at the University of Hertfordshire. She has recently been awarded her NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship.) She began her career teaching Dance at a secondary school in East London, progressing onto becoming a Head of Year. Later moving schools and diverting to take over as Head of Creative Arts and PE and continued to progress up to a Senior Leader, while staying at the school for 14 years.
Mrs Tyson joined Harris Riverside in 2024 as a member of the Senior Leadership and is an enthusiastic member of the English team, but continues to have a love for the Arts, contributing to the school productions. Mrs Tyson is also a consultant for the SSAT in Teaching and Learning, mentoring schools through their journey of improvements. She has a love for teaching and inspiring the next generation to reach beyond their potential.
