Care and support for vulnerable students
The academy operates a number of initiatives to ensure that care and support is provided to the most vulnerable students including;
- students with special educational needs - particularly those with an EHCP
- students with a social worker - or any other student the academy considers vulnerable
- children of critical workers
- students eligible for free school meals
The academy remains open for the frst three categories mentioned above throughout term time and for the children of key workers only during academy holidays.
The academy maintains its psychology and counselling services to those students who require it; sessions are arranged by telephone or face to face if social distancing measures are possible.
The academy makes regular welfare calls to vulnerable students every other weekday and continues to liasie with social services as appropriate
The academy provides personalised support for studnets with special educational needs who attend the academy.
The academy provides supermarket vouchers to the value of £15 per week to the families of students who are entitled to free school meals
