The idea that anyone could criticise a young man who is essentially the same age as our y13s is appalling. A straight ‘A’ student, super talented and brave enough to step up. His team have shown the best of the country in the last month. We need to follow their example.

Day 1 and Mississippi have taken the lead … only time will tell 🏅

“ there’s been some fierce competition this morning, all Year 9’s have competed for their house in Football, Netball, Basketball, Badminton & Table Tennis “

Over 750 HARI students will be competing for this beauty! Students will be in their normal house groups. Points totalled at the end of the week! 🏆

This week is HARI SPORTS WEEK! Each year group will have a sports day this week consisting of the traditional athletics as well as sporting comps! ⚽️🏀🏃🏽🏐🏅

A PE teacher made the BEST point the other day - that they hate it when a ban of PE is used a punishment, PE is curriculum! You don’t see them going round banning English! “Right that’s it! NO READING TODAY” 🙄🤣 I agree! PE should not be banned EVER!!

Harris Academies
All Academies in our Federation aim to transform the lives of the students they serve by bringing about rapid improvement in examination results, personal development and aspiration.

Clubs and enrichment activities

The academy believes in enriching the lives and therefore the learning of every student at the academy. The academy therefore provides a huge range of activities outside timetabled lessons. These occur before, during and after the academy day.

Every member of teaching staff and many of our support staff offer a club which enriches the lives of our students.

Attendance at clubs is compulsory for at least one hour per week but many of our students will spend far more time at clubs than that. The academy tracks attendance at clubs  as part of our commitment to ensure that each student participates widely in enrichment and social activities.

Our clubs timetable will soon be available for download from this page. Parents and carers are advised that the timetable may change frequently due to changes in popularity, the seasons or to further opportunities arising.

Parents should be aware that the academy takes a register of attendance at clubs but also that the academy will not routinely liaise with parents about which clubs students participate in or when they attend. Students are encouraged to advise  and maintain suitable communicaton with parents and carers about this independently.
